The advisor who shows up on your lot — when the customer's still in Business Office.
Mobile ICBC Autoplan service for BC dealerships since 1992. Plates and ownership transfers done at your dealership, with the customer in front of us — typically thirty minutes from sit-down to driving away.
It started with a new sign on a building.
In 1992, I drove past a new dealership in Surrey and saw the sign go up.
I took down the phone number, called to get the principal's name, and walked in the next day. I told him I provided mobile ICBC Autoplan service — and that since he was new, he was going to need one.
He said he already had a guy. Long-time relationship, garage policy already done, demo plates already issued. I left a business card with my pager number on it. No cell phones yet.
He paged me the next day. I missed it for two hours. By the time I called back, the customer was already gone — with plates from his old car. I apologized. He said it was fine. We both knew I'd been given exactly one chance.
The next day, he paged me again.
I was there in seven minutes.
That first year, I did his Autoplan and his plates. The garage policy stayed with the previous brokerage. Year two, he gave me the garage policy too. That's when I knew I had the whole account.
He's still a Prime client. Thirty-four years later.

On your lot — thirty minutes from sit-down to drive-away.
We come to your dealership and complete the ICBC Autoplan with the customer in front of us — plate issuance and ownership transfers, typically half an hour from Business Office sit-down to driving away. Evenings, weekends, and seven days a week.
Thirty years. Twenty-one years. Six years. Same advisor.
Public Google reviews from BC dealer principals — trimmed for length, otherwise unedited. Used car, commercial truck, multi-line. Different segments, same pattern: turn up, do the work, stay out of the deal.
I have been working with Prime Insurance since 1994. When our customers buy a car or truck, we know we can rely on Kul and the team to handle the plates, insurance, and ownership transfer quickly and professionally. Just today they drove from Richmond to Surrey to complete a transfer for a vehicle we just sold. After more than 30 years working together, they are still the first place I send my customers.
I've been working with Prime Insurance in Surrey for over 21 years through my business, BM Truck Sales. Whenever I sell a truck, I often bring the customer directly to their office to arrange the ICBC Autoplan insurance. Their team understands commercial trucks, vehicle insurance, and fleet coverage — and they consistently take great care of my customers.
Six years working with Prime Insurance. They understand exactly what a dealership needs — from demo plates to inventory insurance and ownership transfers. They turn up within 10 minutes, and everything is handled quickly and professionally. Having them come to us makes a big difference. You can tell they've been doing this for a long time.
“Always a pleasure to work with these guys. We appreciate the hard work they do for our business every day.”

Dealers don't fire an advisor for being nice. They fire them over conduct.
Every dealer who has switched to Prime has a story about the advisor before us. Four show up over and over.
1. Not turning up. Or turning up late.
The simplest, biggest, most common reason. Customer's ready. Business Office is ready. The advisor isn't.
2. Ruining the sale.
Some advisors walk into the Business Office and volunteer opinions about the vehicle — or tell the customer something the dealer didn't want shared. The deal cools, the buyer reconsiders, and overnight it dies.
3. Late-evening reluctance.
Most cars sell after 5 PM and on weekends. Advisors who are watching the clock to go home telegraph it to the customer. Speed dies. So does the deal.
4. Showing up wrong.
One franchise dealer was looking for a new agent because the previous one turned up drunk. We've been told versions of this story by more than one principal. It happens.
We turn up. We stay on the dealer's side of the table. We do the insurance — we don't editorialize on the vehicle. And we don't give a service excuse, ever. We've done insurance till midnight.
Speed is part of the offer. Cutting corners isn't.
Every dealer wants speed. The dealers who stay with Prime for decades want something else too: an advisor who will not put their dealership at risk to save five minutes.
One of our long-standing dealer clients lent a demonstration plate to a friend who wanted to move his own car. The friend wanted free insurance. The dealer thought he was doing a favour.
The friend had a fender bender.
Demo plates only insure vehicles owned by — or under sale-consignment to — that dealership. Putting one on a friend's personal car voids the coverage. Both the friend and the dealer were exposed.
The dealer got served. He didn't call a lawyer first. He called us.
That's the relationship. Coverage is what you sell. Being the first call when something goes wrong is what you earn.
What we will not do
We won't issue plates or process ownership transfers without the buyer present, with valid ID. ICBC needs to verify who's signing — and frankly, we need to know they're alive and signing voluntarily. We don't cut that corner.
If your buyer is too far away to come in, here's what to do instead: you send the APV250 registration and APV9T transfer/tax form with the vehicle, so the buyer can complete the transfer at their own ICBC Autoplan brokerage. If the vehicle is being driven to the buyer, we issue an APV16 Temporary Operating Permit — a TOP — so it's legal on the road during the trip.
We will not do anything that goes against ICBC policy. Period.
Two ways to work with us.
Most of our dealer clients use us as their on-site Autoplan partner. But even if you're not switching your day-to-day brokerage, there's a lot we can do remotely, by email or phone.

The first call when something goes wrong
Demo-plate misuse, claim denial — when the situation is messy, dealers call us before they call a lawyer. That's the relationship we earn over decades.
Beyond plates — the coverage that protects the business.
We also review your APV4 Garage Policy — declared values, the floor-plan endorsement, and the commercial wrap-around around it: CGL, property, equipment breakdown, EPL, cyber, crime and pollution. It starts with a free APV4 Gap Audit: a half-hour review of your plate count, employee count, floor-plan endorsement, and property limits against what you actually run on the lot. No switching, no obligation — we put the gaps in writing and hand them to you.
What dealers ask before switching.
We already have an insurance guy. Why would we switch?
So did the dealer in our 1992 story — long-time relationship, garage policy and demo plates already in place. He didn't switch because someone sold him on switching. He switched because his guy didn't turn up, and we did. Year two, he handed us the garage policy too.
You don't have to fire anyone to find out where you stand. Start with the free APV4 Gap Audit: we review your existing program and show you the gaps and leaks in writing. If your current advisor has it all handled, you'll know that too. Most of our dealer clients started exactly this way.
What's involved in switching? Will there be a gap in my coverage?
No gap. Nothing gets cancelled until your new coverage is bound — your Garage Policy, your plates, and your commercial wrap-around stay continuous through the move. Autoplan plate service can start right away; we're a fully appointed Autoplan brokerage, so there's no waiting period before we're on your lot for the next delivery.
The commercial program — CGL, property, fleet, the rest — usually moves at its renewal date rather than mid-term, so you're not paying to cancel early. We coordinate the timing, handle the paperwork with the carriers, and walk you through exactly what the transition looks like before you commit to anything.
Are you appointed with the same carriers the big franchise brokerage programs use?
For ICBC Autoplan and the APV4 Garage Policy, ICBC is the only writer in BC and we're a fully appointed Autoplan brokerage. For commercial wrap-around — CGL, property, equipment breakdown, EPL, cyber, crime, pollution, business interruption — we work with a broad panel of Canadian markets that write BC dealer business.
Big franchise groups have national brokerage programs built for them. Independent dealers don't — that's our lane. Smaller teams, used-car deals, weekend sales. Same Surrey office, same family, since 1994.
Who's our day-to-day contact?
Kul Shergill (owner) personally handles principal-level conversations and program reviews. Day-to-day plate runs and Autoplan service are handled by our licensed team who know dealerships — Kuljeet, Mark, Kamal, and Vir — with Kul stepping in for anything complex. Same people every time. Always a backup.
