Save A Trip · Free Autoplan Renewal Reminders

BC took the decals off your plate. We'll put the reminder back.

BC removed the licence-plate decal that used to show when your insurance was due. Now nothing on your car tells you. If your ICBC Autoplan lapses, you can't legally drive — and the ticket starts at $598, plus towing and impound costs at your own expense. Enter your plates once and Prime Insurance will email you 44, 21, and 3 days before each expiry. No app. No charge. Ever — and you don't need to be a Prime client.

Set up my reminders From Prime Insurance — an independent, family-owned ICBC Autoplan brokerage in Surrey since 1994. Not ICBC.

How Save A Trip works

It takes about a minute, and you only do it once per vehicle. Add up to 7 plates, we send 3 emails per vehicle, and there's nothing to install or log into.

  • 1. Enter your plates

Add up to seven plate numbers with their Autoplan expiry dates — yours, your family's, your work vehicles.

  • 2. We check daily

Our system checks the dates you entered every day, so you don't have to think about them at all.

  • 3. Three reminders, then renew

You get an email 44, 21, and 3 days before expiry. Call our advisors — open 7 days — or renew online in minutes.

What does "Save A Trip" mean?

  • Save a trip to our shop — renew over the phone with an advisor instead of coming in.
  • Save a trip to traffic court — a forgotten renewal can mean a $598 ticket.
  • Save the wasted trip — get pulled over with lapsed insurance and you can't legally drive home.

Set up your free reminders

Prime Insurance is an independent, licensed ICBC Autoplan brokerage — not ICBC. This is a free reminder service we built; it isn't an official ICBC notice.

ICBC mails one renewal reminder about 45 days before expiry, to the address on file. Save A Trip adds three closer reminders — at 44, 21, and 3 days — for up to 7 plates. BC police report the most common excuse from drivers ticketed for no insurance is simply: "ICBC never sent me a reminder."

Free because we'd rather you renewed on time — with anyone — than got a $598 ticket. We won't call or email you for anything except the reminders you ask for, and we never sell your information.

Find the expiry date on your ICBC Autoplan papers, top right.

1 of 7 plates added

Submitting again replaces your previous entry for this email. Adding a vehicle? Re-enter all your plates, not just the new one.

Almost done — check your email.

We've sent a confirmation email. Click the link in it to switch your reminders on — nothing is scheduled until you confirm. If you don't see it in a few minutes, check your spam folder. After you renew, come back and enter the new date — it updates only that plate, not your whole list.

Good to know

How is this different from ICBC's own reminder?
ICBC mails one renewal reminder about 45 days before expiry, to the address it has on file. Save A Trip is an extra backup — three closer reminders at 44, 21, and 3 days, for up to 7 plates from one email.
What happens after I renew?
Your new expiry will be about a year out (or whatever term you chose). Resubmit the form with the same email and your new date — it updates only that plate, not your whole list. Or renew with us and ask your advisor to update it for you.
Is it really free?
Yes. You don't need to be a Prime client. We'd love to handle your renewal, but the reminders cost nothing either way.
Can I stop the emails?
Every reminder has a one-click unsubscribe link. Click it and you're removed immediately.
Do you sell or share my information?
No. Your name, email, plates, and expiry dates are used only to send your reminders, and only kept while you have an expiry we're still tracking.
