Where to Renew ICBC Autoplan in Surrey After 6 PM
If your ICBC Autoplan expires this week and you can't get to a broker before 6 PM, you have three real options in Surrey: a brokerage that stays open late, a phone renewal, or ICBC's online renewal. Most Surrey Autoplan brokers close between 5 and 6 PM on weekdays, and many are closed Sundays — which is exactly when a lot of drivers finally have time to deal with it.
Here's what each option covers, who it works for, and what to have ready.
Option 1: Walk into a brokerage that's open until 9 PM
Prime Insurance in Fleetwood is open until 9 PM Monday to Friday, until 6:30 PM Saturday, and 10 AM to 5:30 PM on Sundays and statutory holidays. No appointment is needed, and a licensed advisor handles the renewal on the spot.

What to bring
- Your renewal notice, or just your licence plate number
- Your BC driver's licence
- Payment (debit, credit, or ICBC payment plan details)
Most renewals take about ten minutes. If you're also due for a home or business policy, the same advisor can handle it in the same visit.
Option 2: Renew by phone
Most personal Autoplan renewals can be completed by phone with a broker — no visit required. Call (604) 582-0557 during office hours with your plate number handy. The advisor confirms your coverage, takes payment, and emails your documents. Print the insurance papers and keep them in the vehicle; a decal is no longer required.
Phone renewal works for most privately owned cars, trucks, and SUVs with a single registered owner. Some transactions still need you in person — a change of ownership, a new plate, or a vehicle arriving from another province.
Option 3: Renew online through ICBC
ICBC's online renewal at icbc.com is the right answer if it's already past 9 PM. You sign in with the BC Services Card app or Interac verification, confirm your coverage, pay, and print your documents at home. You pick a “broker of choice” during the process; the broker reviews the renewal afterwards and calls only if something needs attention.
Online renewal is not available for every policy. You'll need a broker if your vehicle is:
- Jointly owned, or registered to a company
- A motorcycle or collector vehicle
- On a commercial or fleet policy
- Already expired
If any of those apply, Option 1 or 2 is your route.
Better: renew up to 44 days early and skip the rush
ICBC lets you renew up to 44 days before your expiry date. Your new policy still starts on the original expiry date, so you don't lose a day and you don't pay extra. Renewing early turns a last-minute evening errand into a ten-minute phone call whenever it suits you.
If you want a nudge before next year's expiry, Prime offers a free email reminder service called Save A Trip.
Common questions
My insurance expired yesterday. Can I still renew tonight?
Yes, but don't drive the vehicle to the brokerage. An expired policy means the vehicle is uninsured on the road, and the fine for driving without insurance in BC starts at $598. Call first — most lapsed renewals can be reinstated by phone the same day.

Can I renew ICBC on a Sunday in Surrey?
Yes. Prime Insurance is open 10 AM to 5:30 PM on Sundays and statutory holidays, and ICBC online renewal runs every day. Many Surrey brokers are closed Sundays, so check hours before you drive.
Does ICBC cost more at a broker that's open late?
No. Basic and optional ICBC Autoplan rates are set by ICBC and are identical at every licensed broker in BC. What differs is hours, service, and whether a licensed advisor answers the phone.
What if I can't find my renewal notice?
You don't need it. Your plate number and driver's licence are enough for a broker to pull up the policy.
Can I renew a leased car by phone or online?
Usually, yes. If you're the lessee and the policy is eligible, ICBC lets you renew online. If it isn't eligible, a broker can handle the renewal by phone during office hours.
